REBECCA MUKENDI

COUNTRY COORDINATOR, (CONGO TEAM)

Rebecca Mukendi kapinga was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 10 /16 /1993. She was born into a family of 13 children and her father had two wives. Her family life was not enjoyable but that didn’t prevent her from moving forward and go after her dream. She got her bachelor’s degree at the Higher Institute of Applied Techniques (ISTA) where only 2% of admitted students were women compared to 98% of men. There were a lot of stereotypes in terms of what field women should major in versus men and she was bullied for majoring in a field that is mainly considered for men. After graduating from ISTA, she wanted to become part of any movement or organization that will empower women by encouraging to pursue their dreams no matter the obstacles and take on any job they feel good at. Therefore, being part of Kiota global will help achieve this dream. In October 2019, she landed a job in the Congolese government, for 2 years of which she oversaw incoming emails, and of the documents of the Security Council in the office of the Minister of the Interior that stops until the beginning of 2021.
